Responsible Officer

For schools requiring a Responsible Officer, we offer either a one day training option or on-site visits from our Finance Partners.

Responsible Officer Training on:

The role of the Responsible Officer;

• The financial and accounting regime for Academies;
• Suggested testing of controls;
• Recording the testing of controls;
• Reporting to the Governing Body;
• Liaising with the external auditors.

Responsible Officer Visits:

• Carrying out tests on the Academy's system of internal controls in accordance with a written agreement with the Governing Body;
• Reporting the results of those tests to the Governing Body.
