The legal help and advice line provides schools with accurate and detailed answers to legal questions. A solicitor with specialist educational knowledge answers all calls.

Our legal service aims to provide sufficient advice over the telephone at the first call. Our response times are, therefore, usually immediate. However, for particularly complex or unusual issues, our legal advisors may need to carry out further research before offering advice. If further research is required, the team aim to respond within 24 hours of your call.

Responses

As a backup to the telephone advice, written replies can be given when required. A document review service is also available from the legal help and advice line.

Representation

There may be times when your school needs additional support and the problem needs to be taken on as a specific legal brief. We will advise you if we feel this is the case and although you can elect to engage another firm to act on your behalf, our approved legal supplier will offer preferential rates to you as our client.
